VHF/SRC Marine Radio
Anchor Training is a RYA recognised Training Centre for the marine radio short range certificate (SRC). These courses are suitable for anyone going onto the water who may need to use marine radio equipment.
The current list of course dates and availability can be found at the bottom of this page. It is also possible to run the course at other locations subject to approval, so if you have a group of people who need training please contact us.
VHF Operator Short range Certificate. (£70)
The VHF Short Range Certificate (SRC) is essential for all people going afloat who may need to use VHF radio. The course includes both VHF voice transmissions and Digital Selective Calling (DSC) as part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). Using DSC radio units, students will learn how to make both routine and emergency calls. Students are required to pay the RYA for the SRC examination which is taken during the course. (Current cost £30)
